10 EASY Ideas to create Reels for your business

Short-video is here to stay and it is probably going to be around for a while. But not everyone is comfortable with creating video for their business.

In this article, I am giving your 10 ideas for easy reels you can create for Instagram. But here’s the thing, you can use these ideas also for videos for other social media platforms, not only for reels.

10 EASY IDEAS TO CREATE REELS FOR YOUR BUSINESS

  1. One photo with a quote.

Animate the text, so the text is coming in and not all at once. Use music to create a mood. This way, it is easy to read. You can use this type of reel for inspirational purposes.

  2. Showcase products or services

Use photos of your products or services, synchronize them to trending music and add text explaining what they are. I know that with services it is harder and you have to be more creative to find visuals that represent your services, but it is possible. Use this type of reel to promote your business.

  3. Recommendation

Record a short video of yourself flipping through a book, scrolling through a website, or visiting a place. It doesn’t even have to be your face on the video. Add text explaining why you recommend this (book, website, service, place, movie, etc…) to your audience. You can use this type of video to engage or entertain. It can be about a topic that you know your audience cares about.

  4. Tips

Explain a series of tips, recommendations, or steps on doing something. Either add text as you speak them out (best) so people can actually hear your voice and you can give a voice to your brand or point to bubbles if you don’t feel comfortable speaking into the camera. Use this type of tutorial to educate.

  5. Tutorial / Behind-the-scenes

Create a tutorial, where you explain how something is done or where you teach something. Or the same principle with a behind-the-scenes, where we can see what you do and how you do it. Use this type of Reel to educate.

  6. Trend

Use a trend. I know this isn’t everyone’s “cup-of-tea”, but they are easy to do. It is important though that you adjust them to your market niche and use it to highlight a topic of interest to your audience.  There are different trends, some involve lip-sync and others don’t, choose one you feel comfortable with.

  7. Straight-to-camera

Talk straight-to-camera and using your own voice, explain about a topic that your audience is interested about. Make sure to add text, as not everyone is watching with volume on. You can use a soft music in the background. Use this type of reel to educate.

  8. Conversation (Use of characters)

Use at least two characters, it can be yourself, dressed as two different persons, or maybe you can do it with a friend or co-worker. You can let one be your ideal customer and the other can be you. You can plan a short sketch where you help your ideal client resolve a problem they have. Use this type of reel to educate.

  9. Use video with voice-over

You can use a short inspirational video, a waterfall, the ocean, or something else similar that represents your business or an aspirational situation for your ideal customer and add a voice-over, where you motivate, encourage or inspire them.

  10. JUST FOR FUN

Get out of your comfort zone and do something that feels a bit over the top, crazy or fun. It could be a funny trend, or it could be something about one of those broader topics that we discuss as part of our brand. It could be about a topic that you stand for or literally just to entertain. Remember however to stay within the topics that you stand for and that are part of your communication plan. In my case, things like traveling, my dog, or health, could be from time-to-time on my reels.

Creating reels or short video might be something that requires you to step outside of your comfort zone.

This REELS GUIDE will help you get comfortable with the technical part of creating reels in the app.
